Ski Report #41-44: Park City, Utah – March 25-28, 2010
Apr 6th, 2010 by Jim Schley

We arrived in Salt Lake City on Wednesday night, excited for four days of skiing at Park City Mountain Resort with the Murphy family.

We woke up Thursday morning, threw on the ski boots and made a short walk over to the town ski lift for the ride up the hill. It ended up being a brilliantly sunny day, and despite the fact that the mountain hadn’t seen any snow in a while, the skiing was still a lot of fun, and the views of the Wasatch and surrounding mountains were breathtaking. Park City Mountain Resort is big, and we spent the day exploring.

It dumped snow on Friday, and we retreated to the trees where visibility was good and the snow was soft.

We spent a lot of time in McConkey’s bowl, and the new snow just piled up in there making for great turns.

The snow tapered off at the end of the day on Friday in time for us to ski back to town.

Saturday was a stunningly beautiful bluebird sunny day. Perfect weather, awesome snow, and probably one of the top ski days I’ve ever had.

Jim and I hiked up to the top of Jupiter Peak and skied the east face.

It was truly an incredible run. Lots of fresh powder and very nice terrain.

We kept finding more and more awesome terrain like the aspen glades above. It was truly a blast.

We got our photo with the Murpys holding the Stow Independent newspaper. Our flight wasn’t until evening on Sunday so we were able to get a solid half day in before taking off. Sunday had nice spring conditions as it was another gorgeous sunny day, and the temps got pretty warm, softening the snow. We had a fantastic trip.
